Ethan and Theo!

Ethan and Theo are our beautiful twins that were born at 28 weeks because of a number of complications. Theo had a dysfunctional diastolic umbilical cord flow (where the blood flow through the umbilical cord was absent and reverse in the final stages of the pregnancy), we also had twin to twin transfusion and Theo’s growth was also restricted. 28 weeks was our milestone and we got there!

We knew that our boys would have a fight on their hands to survive and they have made us so proud! Theo was born weighing 1lb 12 and Ethan 2lb 12. We had a stay of 100 days in the Royal Devon and Exeter NNU, and with the exception of Theo having home oxygen you would struggle to believe that they were the same babies!

Our beautiful boys!

Being a mummy to Ethan and Theo is the most amazing gift I could ever wish for and each and every day that goes by they become just a little bit more amazing! Every time they smile or babble and chatter to us makes our hearts melt. When I think of the journey they have had so far to get here I feel such pride that I am their mummy xx

Hi congratulations on your amazing boys!
I stumbled across your page as was looking on net for a page with our twins Theo & Ethan. Ours too were born @ 28 wks same sizes as yours!! But sadly they both were born sleeping in June 2011.

Your boys are a true miracle & I can’t get over we chose the same names and were born same weeks!

All the best to you & your family Sarah x

      Hi Sarah,

Apologies for not replying sooner; I didn’t know what to say, and I still don’t.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how terrible that must have been. Us having chosen the same names and had our babies at the same gestation has crossed my mind many times since reading your comment, the chances of such parallels must be incredible.

My best wishes to you and your family too,

      Nicola x

    Hi Nicola

I’m sorry I never got chance to reply! Many thanks for your reply!
I just popped on to see how your boys were doing and they look great! :)) it’s lovely to see. Since our twins we had another baby & we have called him Thean (Theo & Ethan combined!)
He’s a beautiful soul and you really appreciate even more how precious life is.

All the very best to you and your beautiful family, Sarah xx
